Miami Ultras on TV, pictures and video. USA can't hold the lead and fall to Brazil

The Miami Ultras appeared on Univision during the USA vs Brazil game and Republica Deportiva. It was a fun event that also saw Miami FC players Danny Vasquez and Richard Perdomo interviewed by Presidente Fernando Fiore.

Here are a few pictures and video (In Spanish)
For more pictures and video head over to the Miami Ultras site.

A special thanks to Miami FC Media Relations/PR Manager Ignacio Rodriguez-Argote for putting this together.

While at Univision's studio we watched the USA drop a 2 -0 lead in the second half, a heart breaker for the USA fans in the studio. Could this be time for a change of the U.S. head coach? I mean it's great we got to the final, but we need to remember we got there by mere circumstance on goal aggregate, We lost 3 of the 5 games we played at this tournament... Still, falling to Brazil by 3-2 isn't as bad as losing to them 3-0 like we did in the first round.

Soccer Fans! Miami FC returns home to play the now traditional Fourth of July game against the first place Puerto Rico Islanders. This game will be played at FIU Stadium and will include fireworks immediately after the game. For more info go to the Miami FC website and get your tickets!

Be sure to check out a great piece written by Robert Scorca in the first of a multi part series detailing the history of Soccer in South Florida called "Humble Beginnings". They didn't start in South Florida at all, it began in Washington and here is a little of the story:
The history of the Fort Lauderdale Strikers goes back before Fort Lauderdale.
The team even goes back before the North American Soccer League. The N.A.S.L.
was soccer in it's heyday. Players like Pele, George Best, Gordon Banks, Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore, "Nene" Cubillas, etc. all graced the fields in the United States and Canada but I am getting ahead of myself...

Miami Kickers FC have a 4 game winning streak, Miami FC drops one to the Impact

Thanks to the Miami Ultras site for putting us on to the Miami Kickers FC who play in the WPSL Sunshine Division which they currently lead undefeated after 4 games. The Kickers recently beat down the FC Thomasville Dragons by a whopping 5-1 this past weekend. All Miami Kickers FC home games are played at American Heritage School in Plantation. Admittance is $8 for adults and $4 for children. The Kickers play next away versus the Puerto Rico Capitals. Be sure to check out the next home game on Saturday July 11 as the ladies take on the Clearwater Galactics. Let's support Soccer in South Florida! Be sure to check them out. FMB (Football in Miami and Beyond) will be covering the Kickers games and giving you the scoop. So keep checking back and visit the Miami Kickers FC website.

Word has it the Miami Ultras will try to attend a Miami Kickers game in the near future. We will keep you posted on that.
I'd like to see Miami FC and the Miami Kickers FC get together and give us a double header! Maybe the Kickers can move their Saturday game on July 11 back a day and play at FIU Stadium on Sunday July 12? I think Miami FC should give us a double header of any kind at this stage.

Talk about Miami FC... The Blues lost a close one to the Montreal Impact last night by 1-0. See more here. I'm kind of concerned with the highlights they gave on USL live as there is no film of any Miami attack! Omitted Mysteriously is the legitimate goal that was taken from the Blues... does USL have favorites?

Miami FC gets 6 points out of Cleveland. Blues to meet Impact on Tuesday at Montreal

The Blues played 2 great games away at the Cleveland City Stars. First Miami FC came away with a 2-1 victory on Thursday June 18th. I saw the game at Fritz & Franz and had a great time with a couple of the players and the Ultras. We were down 1-0 but the Blues recovered Leo Inacio Nunes scored off a precise shot that found the inside of the bottom right post, tying the score 1-1. Three minutes later, Orlando Bueso initiated a string of passes that led to Alen Marcina's second goal and Paulo Jr..'s second assist. for more read here and see the video below:

The Blues then played the City Stars again on Saturday June 20th also defeating the local team by 1-0, the ball hit the back of Alen Marcina and the ball fell right into the path of Paulo Araujo Jr. who finished with one touch. Here is the video:
Miami FC will now play against the Montreal Impact this Tuesday at Saputo Stadium on June 23rd versus the Montreal Impact. Miami FC last beat the Impact at FIU stadium 2-1 on April 24th.

The Miami Ultras have a great piece about the history of South Florida Soccer by Robert Scorca. It all started out with the Washington Darts who came to South Florida as the Miami Gatos. Eventually the Strikers appeared but read the complete story here

Burrito watch USA vs Italy game on Telefutura yesterday and was sad to see that those pinches cheaters that make good espagetti win over USA by 3-1. Rico Clark get red and that pretty much end all hopes for USA. Burrito was happy to see his compadre Fernando Clavijo talking on halftime pero Fernando no mention Miami FC! Porque? He should have worn something on suit with Miami FC logo or something... maybe a Miami Ultra scarf? Come on Miami FC let's do somethings!

Talk abouts Miami FC not doing anything, Burrito take bus to Lockhart stadium and there is no sign on Commercial Blvd that say there is a game! Porque? Then they wonder why people don't go to games. How do people know there is a game if there are no signs? Burrito suggest they put those waving Soccer balls in front of stadium and not hidden in the back. Now we have games at FIU stadium, lets see if Miami FC do advertisements or something there.

Marcelo Balboa was 0n DA show 560 AM Saturday afternoon and Burrito hear on way to Lockhart. Balboa say he was watching some chingado hockey game and was bored. DA never mentioned the Miami FC game that was taking place in a few hours... he did mention his Soccer Clinic...? Either ways DA going to do soccer segment on Thursdays 9 or 10ish Burrito will let you vatos know the deal. Balboa was in town for the futbolito thingie and was on Univision in morning getting hair cutoff for charity. Check out video, sorry it's in Spanish but you see most of his hair go bye-bye!

Miami FC survive scare to win 2-1 over Lynch's FC and advance in the U.S. Open Cup.

Miami FC was able to overcome a 1-0 deficit at half time and defeated Lynch's FC by scoring 2 goals in 1 minute.

Lynch's drew first blood at the 35th minute off of a penalty that left the crowd gathered at Tropical Park silent. As half time came and went things looked bleak for the Blues until a confusing play that looked like a penalty in favor of Miami FC led to the first goal by Paulo Araujo at the 64th minute.
As soon as the game restarted Miami FC went for the kill and not even a minute later Striker Diego Serna escaped his markers and made it 2-1, which proved to be the final score that takes the Blue's to the next stage of the U.S. Open Cup.
Now Miami FC will play against the Charleston Battery who defeated Atlanta FC by 2-0 in a game which saw Atlanta lose 3 players to red cards. More here
According to the U.S. Open Schedule Miami FC would play The Battery on Tuesday June 16 at 8 pm at Tropical Park which would be crazy, considering the Blue's will play at Vancouver this Friday June 12 and then play this Sunday June 14 against Austin here at Lockhart Stadium! To make things worse after their U.S. Open Cup game Miami FC plays June 18, 20 and 23rd! For more on the crazy nightmare schedule the Blue's will go on check out the Miami Ultras site.
In other Miami FC news Honduran national team and one time Miami Fusion player Saul Martinez was seen practicing with the Blues prior to the Lynch's FC game. Could this be another signing or is he just training with the team? Saul was last seen playing for Club Deportivo Marathon of Honduras.

It's time to bleed Blue South Florida fans and support Miami FC as they play against the Austin Aztex this Sunday June 14 at 6pm. Tailgate begins at 4pm.

US Open Cup Match: Miami FC vs Lynch's FC

Miami FC will play Lynch's FC in the first round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at Tropical Park, this Tuesday, June 9th at 8pm. This game will be FREE so let's fill up Tropical Park!
A source close to the Blues tells us Coach Zinho is going with an all out offensive team.
Lynch's FC recently lost defender Nurdin Hrustic who will be playing with VfL Bochum of the Bundesliga.
Lynch's FC is an amateur team based out of Jacksonville, Florida; they represent Lynch's Irish Pub. Lynch's FC won a very difficult Region III; they not only boasted a great pool of talent, but they also had to overcome harsh weather conditions, venue changes, and what seemed to be an insurmountable deficit to win their group. The two- time, Open Cup qualifiers scored six goals in their final match to win their group and a berth to play Miami FC in the opening round. Info taken from Miami FC's site, for more go hereMiami FC also announced that they will continue to play its home games at both Lockhart Stadium and FIU Stadium for the 2009 USL Season. Ultras part of Sam's Army? Free Miami FC Open cup game, USA watch party and more

After their dismal performance against Costa Rica this past Wednesday, the United States gets ready to face Honduras Saturday June 6, 2009 at 8pm.

I urge all Soccer fans to come out and support the US Men's National Team at Fritz and Franz located at 60 Merrick Way in Coral Gables.

Did you guys know the Miami Ultras are in the process of becoming a part of Sam’s Army? Check this out:
The Miami Ultras have been avid supporters of U.S. Soccer since our inception in February of 2008 (One-year and four months ago). We are currently in negotiations with Sam’s Army, the insane unofficial fan club of US Soccer since 1994, to become a brigade.
For more info on this and the tailgate go here

Talk about Ultras, Julio Caballero wrote a great piece on the importance of Marketing at the Miami Ultras site. Be sure to check it out, a must read. Go here

Since we are on the Marketing subject, our new friend and future Tampa Bay Rowdies fan Jim Willis has a new blog called Against the Run of Play and he wrote a post titled "Marketing 101 according to Miami FC". It's short but worth the read. Jim also tells me a group of Tampa fans are thinking of making a road trip to either the Gold Cup or a Miami FC game.
Come on down guys, let's get the rivalry started!

South Florida Soccer Fans can look forward to FREE Soccer, you read it, FREE Soccer this coming Tuesday June 9, 2009 8pm at Tropical Park as Diego Serna and Miami FC take on Lynch's FC of Jacksonville for the US Open Cup! There are no excuses, lets fill up the stadium and support our team! Time to Bleed Blue!

Miami FC and Traffic signs at the USA vs Costa Rica game

Everyone saw them and if you didn't you are blind. I found myself looking at them more as the game progressed, every moment that passed. Anything to take my mind off of the horrendous game I was watching.

USA got beat up like the little fat kid that no one likes in the neighborhood. In the end not even Landon Donovan's penalty kick could hide the damage that was done. Blame the Turf, the weather or the fans. It didn't matter. I hope we do better versus Honduras.

Now back to the signs. I think it's a good thing to see Miami FC and Traffic signs all over the stadiums. It's not the first time we see them in CONCACAF games. At least it makes people wonder and gives international attention to our team. Does it do anything to help us get peoples butts to the stadium? Could the money spent on the signs go to other forms of local advertisement? At the end of the day it's great to see those signs, it fills me with pride that the world (or at least Costa Rica and the U.S.) know my team exists. But, will it make a difference? What do you think?
Time will tell... Vamos Miami!

Mascot in Love with referees, with pictures! by Burrito

Today Burrito bring you vatos troubling informations concerning South Florida's favorite mascot Hotshot. Burrito half been hearings rumors that Hotshot has taken certain likings toward USL Referees and even hear some drunk fans at last game say "Hotshot is flamer". Burrito no believe these silly rumors until recent paparazzi fan pictures show up where Hotshot is caught in act of checking out USL Referees. See for yourself:

The next picture show Hotshot when he realize picture was taken. Notice look he make! He saying "Ay Dios mio! They see me looking at beautiful referees!"Now Burrito only problem is that if Hotshot half something with referees then why not use that to help Miami FC win games? Miami FC have not benefited from this situations and sometimes you need to take one for team, you know what Burrito saying?

Burrito ax a few fans at last game what they think about this situation an here is what these carnales says:

Anonymous: I find it shocking and disturbing it's a consequence brought on by the Obama administration! Damn Liberals!

Hal: I think it's cool and if it doesn't work out with the refs Hotshot should give me a call!

Maria: Que es ese Hotshot? Parece el Diablo!

Silvia: Next time I need a light I'm asking Hotshot!

Anonymous: He needs to find Jesus!

Now Burrito leave you with Horse that half similiar situation.
